The AMIC Refurbishment Project

Asalam Aleikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatu,
Alhamdullilah, our community managed to raise the target required to complete the Mosque refurbishment project. The Aberdeen Mosque Committee would like to thank everyone that contributed towards this cause. May Allah accept your kind and generous donations, Amin.

The Phases of the Project

Insha Allah, the refurbishment project will be completed in four phases as follows:

  • Phase One: Conversion of 168, including the removal of the wall partitions on both the ground and first floor. This house will be designated for sisters only. Ground floor work has been completed.
  • Phase Two: Combining 164 & 166 to make one building with a brighter and fresher interior and new entrance with disability access. New facilities will include a larger wudu area, longer prayer rows, funeral facilities, new prayer carpets, special needs / disability facilities including toilets and wheelchair accessibility around the mosque. (To be completed before Ramadan)
  • Phase Three: The removal of the wall partition and wudu area from 164, thereby extending the main prayer hall to be the largest in the mosque.
  • Phase Four: The installation of new heating facilities, the upgrading of the sound system with new PA system and concealed speakers. New paving slabs will also be installed in the front of the mosque.

Alhamdullilah, Phase One and Two are now complete and Insha Allah we will soon commence Phase Three and Four.
